Plastic Socks Busters at Capojale beach, hunting for fish nets in the Gargano

.

After the initiative of La Spezia, 21 July from 10 onwards, it will be the turn of our Apulian friends who, with the 1st Edition of the PLASTIC SOCKS BUSTERS Campaign, will involve citizens, residents, tourists and economic operators in the hunt for mussel farming socks scattered on the beach of Capojale.

Among the specific objectives of the project there is also the desire to sensitize the general public and some target groups already identified, regarding the protection of the marine environment from pollution caused by plastic waste and in particular by retinas.

The awareness initiative is dedicated to tourists and tour operators in the two pilot areas envisaged by the project: Liguria (LA Spezia) Puglia (North of the Gargano) and will be repeated every year until 2025.

The rules of the game

The participants involved will be divided into teams and will compete in a special cleaning of the beach. In fact, the members of the group that will count the highest number of nets for mussel farming among the waste collected will receive surprise prizes among our gadgets.

The appointment

The meeting point will be at the property Capojale Beach Park and then all together to clean up the beach.
