Since the tourist flow in coastal cities in summer is one of the main causes of the increase in marine pollution, the project aims to sensitize tourists and tour operators on the effect of wrong habits and above all on the consequences of plastic dispersed in the sea, the first material of all to be found in the marine environment and with the greatest impact on the delicate ecosystem.
The event designed ad hoc for this category is Plastic Socks Busters, an initiative in which tourists and tour operators (hoteliers, bathing establishments, campsites, tourist villages, etc.) will be invited to participate in a special "treasure hunt" during the beach cleaning activity with the aim of collecting the largest number of socks used for mussel farming.
They will be expected premi in gadgets for the winners.
