To involve the populations residing in the two pilot areas of the project and in the neighboring areas, the following activities will be carried out:
- Countryside Clean Up the Sea, on the occasion of World Oceans Day promoted by the United Nations (June 8) with the aim of actively involving the local population, raising awareness of the problem of plastic pollution and increasing social consensus towards environmental policies. The population will be invited to simultaneously organized events dedicated to cleaning the beaches.
- The tracking campaign Beach litter organized every year from the month of April. It is a citizen science activity which consists in the collection of data on the waste present on the beach. Monitoring makes it possible to acquire information on the quantity, trends and sources of that share of marine litter immediately visible to all of us, in this case with a focus on mussel breeding stockings. The protocol used is a simplification of that provided by the Guidelines of the MSFD technical group (Guidance on monitoring of Marine Litter in European seas, MSFD technical subgroup on ML).

Furthermore, if you are part of or know members of the Community's political class, there will be four appointments dedicated to informing and raising the awareness of representatives of political institutions and local bodies who have decision-making power and therefore a role in the fight against marine pollution .
It will be about 1 webinar nationwide And 3 at the multi-regional level during which the discussion will concern the possible solutions to reduce the problem and specifically the dispersal of mussel farm stockings.
