Networking on regulations with P.Ri.S.Ma. MED2
.
On March 7, 2025, thanks to the P.Ri.S.Ma. MED2 Interreg Marittimo project between Italy and France – Co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) under the “European territorial cooperation” objective of the EU Cohesion Policy – it organised a working table between European projects, to bring out the main difficulties encountered at the regulatory level.
.
The contribution of Elisa Scocchera, Stefania Di Vito and Chiara Braschi, representatives of Legambiente, focused on the critical issues that the LIFE Muscles team had to face regarding the use of the mobile plant for recycling, especially for the release of authorizations, especially when new ones must be requested from each municipality or region. Furthermore, the nets for shellfish farming are classified as special waste that do not have reference standards, therefore, it is more complicated to understand how to reuse them in the field.
“It was an important occasion where we got to know 10 European projects – Legambiente explained – who agreed on the fact that research is moving forward quickly, but there is a lack of an adequate response at a regulatory level”.
