The meeting, held on the afternoon of July 9th, involved a dozen marine professionals, who were given the opportunity to learn about all the operational phases of the mobile recycling plant and to experience firsthand the quality of the biodegradable and compostable nets and those made from recycled polypropylene. The container housing the plant has been positioned for several months in an area available to Società Ittica del Giudice—Life Muscles' partner in the Puglia pilot area. The company led the meeting thanks to the presence of owner Fernando Del Giudice and his sons Michele and Marco. Over time, they had the opportunity to test the equipment and suggest improvements to the processing process. One thing that was certainly appreciated and confirmed during the discussion, which was also attended by Project Coordinator Marzia Mattioli, was the economic benefit of the entire operation. Furthermore, mussel farmers who already dispose of and supply used polypropylene nets to subsequent workers in the supply chain can now guarantee a product that is already ground, washed, and dried, ready for extrusion and to be transformed into new objects.
