Two moments dedicated to sustainable mussel farming and the solutions proposed by Life Muscles in the Ligurian pilot area on the occasion of the start-up stage of Legambiente's Goletta Verde 2024.

In the morning departure from La Spezia and boat tour with journalists towards the headquarters of the Cooperative of Associated Mussel Farmers, passing through the farms. In the afternoon we stop in the same place for the fourth seminar dedicated to sea workers.

9.45am Departure by boat from La Spezia, Porto Mirabello pier

10:30 Overview of nurseries (mussel farms) and access to the nursery of Paolo Varrella, president of the Cooperativa Mitilicoltori Associati.

11:00 Collection of retinas from the farm e sampling microplastics. Representatives from CMA - Cooperativa Mitilicoltori Associati, Legambiente, University of Siena, University of Bologna and Novamont will be on the boat to describe the ongoing activities and project actions.

12:00 Visit to Shellfish purification centre et al mussel culture museum

14:30 Break or come back in in La Spezia by boat for those who don't stop at the seminar.
