Removing waste from the sea is no longer a crime. Salvamare is law
Anyone who collects waste at sea will no longer commit a crime. From today, the Salvamare law allows fishermen to bring the plastic recovered with nets ashore and deposit it free of charge in the ecological islands set up by the port authorities. "Finally, Italy is equipping itself with a fundamental tool in the fight against marinelitter, making fishermen active protagonists in freeing the sea from waste".
